Without You

I look into your eyes
A picture on the mantle
I say a prayer at night

I've damn near memorized
Every last line and feature
Upon your face but I...

I wonder...

Will you ever meet me on the other side? 
Are you standing waiting at the gates of heaven 
Holding up a neon sign that says, 
"I'm glad you have arrived"

I can't do anything without you
Almost forget to breathe
I doubt you are aware
About my feelings underground

I set this candle alit
Put flowers on an alter
Attempt to honour your life

You could have been my wife
Now all I do is falter
